Denmark & Greenland defeat Trump takeover bid. US settles for military access it largely already had
Greenland will remain part of Denmark under a planned US-Denmark-Greenland security deal, despite Trump claiming the US secured “permanent control.” The pact largely preserves or expands military access, basing and overflight rights the US has already held since 1951. Denmark retains sovereignty.
