Philippine drug killings continue as Duterte ICC trial nears
The killings did not end when Duterte left office. Since Marcos Jr. took power in June 2022, monitors have recorded 1,291 drug-related killings—462 attributed to police or other armed state agents. Duterte’s ICC trial is scheduled to begin Nov. 30.
